You may ask, is LucidLink in the cybersecurity space? Well, no, but yes. Let me tell you what we mean by that. When our founders created LucidLink, security was one of the three key pillars that we focused on and continue to focus on throughout all our endeavors.
Today, the increase in remote users and distributed workloads can pose a significant cybersecurity threat. According to a recent article in ZDNet, working from home is making it easier to pull off cyberattacks. To address this, LucidLink has taken an innovative approach to data confidentiality in the cloud while providing lightning-fast access to data from anywhere.
Every remote worker should have access and collaborate on files from any location, quickly and seamlessly. LucidLink Filespaces, a cloud-native file service, enables immediate access to files in the cloud, like a local drive. What can be easier for remote users than to have the speed and efficiency of Cloud NAS and the ability to collaborate on the same files no matter where they are located?
We pass muster with InfoSec reviews
With LucidLink’s “zero-knowledge” security model, only the customer can “see” their data. Only the client ever has possession of an encryption key for a user, including the administrative user, root. Neither the cloud storage provider nor LucidLink ever has visibility into your data. This is huge. Whether you are an individual, small business owner, or an administrator for a large organization, due to the robust security mechanism enforced by LucidLink, there is no password recovery option. LucidLink cannot recover a root user password. When we say your data is secure, we mean it. Our customers remain in control of their data.
Everything is encrypted at AES256, in-flight, and at rest
As soon as data is copied to a LucidLink Filespace, it is encrypted, and it remains encrypted both in transit and at rest in the cloud storage. Only you hold the encryption keys, and the keys are all yours. In addition, LucidLink does not sync data across client devices as with legacy sync-and-share solutions, but only syncs the metadata across client devices. That metadata is also encrypted at AES256.
And to top it off, all communication between the client machine and cloud object storage is over port 443. The LucidLink service, off to the side and not in the data path, communicates over port 443 to the client and object storage. Thanks to our robust security model, your data is as secure as possible.
We know we have covered security before, but that was pre-COVID. We are here to remind you that with new remote workflows, everyone needs to dot their “I”s and cross their “T”s. With LucidLink, you can check the box!
