Can you share your background experience before joining LucidLink?

I am a designer with seven years of experience in various areas, such as product, motion, and social media design. In past roles, I created asana animations for a yoga app as a motion designer and designed templates for platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube as a social media designer. I also have experience working in print. Being involved in all aspects of the design process and experimenting with different design styles is what I really enjoy doing.

What did you find attractive about starting a career with LucidLink?

LucidLink is the first company I have worked for that prioritizes the well-being and support of its employees. They genuinely understand our needs and provide us with the necessary resources to do our job effectively. For example, I have been provided with a high-performance laptop and the design tools required for my role. I don’t have to stress about not having access to the necessary software and resources to do my job well. They ensure that the team has everything we need to perform our jobs well.

Describe LucidLink in one word.

I’d say the culture at LucidLink is distinct and unparalleled. So if I had to choose one word, LucidLink is like its own planet with a unique energy that sets it apart. Our team is made up of so many cool, diverse and open-minded individuals, each of whom brings their own unique qualities to the culture.

What is your favorite thing about the Culture at LucidLink?

I appreciate the inclusive and open environment at LucidLink. I feel comfortable sharing my thoughts and ideas with the founders and engaging in meaningful conversations with my colleagues. Transparency is highly valued in the company culture, which I appreciate the most.

Describe what a typical day is like for you at LucidLink.

I am based in Kyiv, Ukraine, and work remotely. My daily schedule includes 2-3 morning meetings with my manager to discuss design work and receive feedback. I spend 4-5 hours per day working on design projects. Since our team is spread out across various locations worldwide, my day usually concludes with meetings with my colleagues in the United States.

Is there a specific project or initiative you’re proud of working on at LucidLink?

I am proud of the three-fold informational brochure I created for the team to use at expos and events. It highlights the technical and creative benefits of LucidLink and serves as helpful print collateral. Seeing my work being used to attract new business at various events is rewarding. I created it for Adobe MAX, which attracted thousands of attendees. I never thought so many people would use something I designed to learn about the company.

What are some of the challenges your role addresses at LucidLink?

My main challenge as a mid-level designer is navigating my career path. While I have significant experience, I understand the importance of continuous learning and growth. I enjoy taking different courses to expand my knowledge and skills. The design field is constantly evolving, and I strive to keep up with the changes.

Outside of work, what do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy playing the ukulele and am currently learning the guitar in my free time. I’ll occasionally record myself and share videos playing on Instagram. I am also a coffee enthusiast and enjoy discovering new coffee shops, both in my hometown and when traveling. Additionally, I enjoy traveling and exploring new places.

What is a must-have for you to get your work day going?

I have to have my cappuccino with almond milk. Coffee gives me that boost I need to get my day going.

What advice would you give someone interested in starting a career as a designer?

Taking risks and striving for what you want is essential, even when it may seem daunting. At first, I was hesitant to apply for my current position at LucidLink because I wasn’t sure if my experience and English skills were sufficient. But I took the chance and applied, and I am glad I did. This role has provided valuable learning experiences and taught me the significance of embracing challenges and actively seeking new opportunities for growth and learning.
