LucidLink Wins Gold—Again— for Innovation in Cloud Storage

The awards season is upon us! On February 15, LucidLink won Gold in TechTarget’s prestigious Product of Year in the Cloud Storage category. In media and entertainment, the award season starts this week with the 2021 Golden Globes, followed by the Grammys in March and then the SAG and Academy Awards in April.  

What does this have to do with LucidLink and our second consecutive win as The Product of the Year in Cloud Storage from TechTarget’s Storage Magazine and SearchStorage.com? Let’s make a comparison. Well, for the first time ever, TechTarget had multiple repeat gold winners, including LucidLink, Vast Data, and WekaIO.

Winning back-to-back awards in any of these prestigious ceremonies is very rare. For example, being nominated for an Oscar is no small feat. For TechTarget’s Storage Product of the Year, vetted companies went through rigorous judging criteria. Finalists were rated on several factors, including technological innovation, ease of integration, ease of use and manageability, functionality, and value.

According to the judges, LucidLink stands out as one of the few and won gold due to its ease of integration and performance with no clear weak spots. One judge acknowledged:

Filespaces, a shared global namespace, works like a standard NAS but reduces latency as primary file data hosted in the cloud. LucidLink competed against finalists HPE, IBM cloud storage pioneer Nasuni, and 2019 silver winner Hammerspace, none of which finished in the top three this year.
