At IBC 2026, LucidLink Connect, Developer Tools and LucidLink MSP help media teams put existing content to work, automate repeatable tasks and scale through specialist service providers.

AMSTERDAM and SAN FRANCISCO, September 3, 2026 — LucidLink, the Emmy-winning cloud-native file streaming platform for instant, secure access to files, today announced new capabilities and a managed service provider program to help media organizations put distributed content to work and expand production with less manual work and operational overhead.

Modern media teamwork spans people, locations and tools, with more of the work around content handled by software and AI. Each new project or system can add manual steps and operational demands. These announcements extend LucidLink’s foundation in shared file collaboration so organizations can put existing media to work, automate repeatable tasks and access specialist help to operate those workflows as production grows.

At IBC 2026, LucidLink will show how LucidLink Connect brings existing media into a shared production workflow. Teams can access and edit files from S3, Dropbox, Frame.io and other connected sources directly through LucidLink today. Coming soon, Publish will let teams choose when finished work is committed back to its connected source for the applications and production pipelines that use it, without another copy, export or transfer.

The LucidLink Python SDK and MCP Server, part of LucidLink Developer Tools, are moving to general availability together later this month after being tested in demanding workflows with large enterprise customers. LucidLink MSP gives specialist service providers a scalable way to operate and support LucidLink across their customer base, helping more media organizations adopt shared file workflows with ongoing expert support.

“Media companies do not need another mandate to move everything into one place. They need the content they already have to become usable immediately by people, applications and increasingly AI, wherever that content lives,” said Peter Thompson, co-founder and CEO of LucidLink. “LucidLink is expanding from the shared filespace teams work in, to a broader platform for connecting data and the workflows that depend on it. We’re bringing work to the content, instead of forcing the content to move before work can begin.”

LucidLink Connect: from existing media to finished work

LucidLink Connect brings existing content together in one shared production workflow, wherever it already lives across cloud storage and workflow tools. Teams can find that media, work on it together in LucidLink and, when it is ready, hand the finished result to the next stage of production.

Launched in March 2026, Connect is expanding at IBC with a new management UI and edit capabilities, while previewing Connect Publish, coming soon. Together, these capabilities let organizations focus on the workflow outcome instead of the mechanics of moving media, modernizing production without migrating their content or replacing the systems around it.

  • Explore content across existing storage: Admins can connect existing data stores and make the content teams need available without staging another copy or forcing a migration.

  • Edit connected media together: Teams can open and edit media from connected storage in LucidLink’s shared working environment, helping people across locations work together on existing content.

  • Publish finished work to move production forward (coming soon): Publish will let teams choose when completed work is committed back to its connected source, giving them a deliberate transition from creative work to the next stage of production. Existing applications and production pipelines can then use the finished version directly from that storage, without another copy or handoff.

“The latest LucidLink Connect takes users from access to action. Content stays where it’s already stored, teams can work with it directly and IT avoids another migration project every time content needs to become part of a workflow,” said Richard Yu, Chief Product Officer at LucidLink. “And with LucidLink Developer Tools, those workflows can be automated and integrated directly into the systems teams already use.”

LucidLink Developer Tools: scale production through automation and AI

As production grows, the manual work around media can become a bottleneck. LucidLink Developer Tools help organizations automate repeatable tasks, integrate LucidLink into their production systems and bring AI assistance into file workflows, freeing teams to spend more time on creative work.

The LucidLink Python SDK and MCP Server will move to general availability together later this month after being battle-tested in demanding workflows with large enterprise customers. The Python SDK gives developers programmatic access to LucidLink files directly in Python, while the MCP Server gives AI agents a standards-based way to interact with LucidLink through the same supported developer foundation.

Developers can use the SDK in scripts, servers, containers, cloud environments and automation pipelines, while the MCP Server extends the same foundation to AI-assisted and agentic workflows. Together, they create a supported path for turning repeatable media tasks into software — from project setup and file operations to internal tools, orchestration and emerging agent-driven workflows — without relying on a desktop-mounted filespace.

LucidLink MSP: make distributed production easier to operate

Media organizations need production workflows they can deploy, integrate and support as projects and teams grow. LucidLink MSP gives them a way to work with specialist service providers for ongoing operation and support, helping them adopt shared file workflows without building every operational capability internally.

"Our clients come to us because they want enterprise-grade file access without the overhead of managing it themselves. LucidLink MSP lets us deliver exactly that, while giving us the visibility to stay ahead of their needs before they have to ask," said Matt Tape, Vice President of Media Workflow & Solutions, CineSys.

Building on the LucidLink Management Platform (LMP) introduced earlier this year, the new managed service provider program gives partners a centralized way to provision, manage and bill LucidLink across multiple customer environments. A bring-your-own-storage model fits the infrastructure their customers already operate. Centralized operations help partners scale their services across a broader customer base.

Partners remain the customer of record and own the end-customer contract, billing and tier-1 relationship, while LucidLink provides the platform, enablement and tier-2/3 support behind them. The program is designed for service providers supporting media and post-production, live sports, AEC and enterprise teams that need high-performance shared file workflows without sync-and-copy overhead.

The program builds on an ecosystem that already spans Adobe creative applications, Moments Lab’s media discovery tools and specialist service providers such as CineSys.

DAZN brings the borderless production story to the IBC Showcase Theatre

LucidLink will also join DAZN for a customer-led IBC Showcase session, “The borderless production platform: cloud, collaboration and AI at DAZN,” on Saturday, September 12 from 15:15–15:35 in the Showcase Theatre. DAZN Lead Editor Matt Lee and Head of Automation Nick Lewis will discuss how DAZN operates production workflows across cities, continents and time zones, and how the organization is thinking about using LucidLink Developer Tools to automate manual touchpoints as those workflows scale. Tom Holmes, Strategic Account Director at LucidLink, will moderate.
