How Jack Nimble turned file frustration into creative freedom

There’s a moment we see often in modern post production.
One editor is deep in a cut, while motion designers whip up assets, VFX artists refine each frame and designers prep the final outputs for digital and print.
Everyone is moving fast, everyone is working well and yet progress slows. Suddenly, the work feels less about creativity and more about managing files.
At Jack Nimble, projects rarely move in a straight line. Social campaigns demand speed, constant iteration and multiple disciplines touching the same project at the same time.
Editors, animators, designers and VFX artists work side by side, shaping the project together in real time.
That creative overlap is a strength, but as Drew Meier, Head of Post Production at Jack Nimble puts it, "for a long time our file workflows weren’t built to support it."
Supporting hybrid teams in real-time
For a while, the team worked around it. Files got packaged and passed between artists. Media was proxied and re-linked. Projects were duplicated to avoid stepping on each other's work.

It was manageable, until it wasn't. With seven people running twenty projects at once, the overhead of just moving files around started eating into the work itself.
To keep their hybrid team in sync and moving fast, Jack Nimble turned to LucidLink.
Instead of moving project packages back and forth, teams worked from a shared cloud drive that behaves like local storage. Editors, motion designers and VFX artists could access the same project directories together.
Animation and compositing files lived alongside edit projects and shared media. Brand asset libraries could link directly into multiple projects.
Replacing friction with flow
The shared cloud drive made files instantly accessible and transformed how the team collaborated.
Before LucidLink, cloud storage technically worked, but it was operationally heavy.
“Editors lost 30 to 60 minutes a day just managing files, especially when juggling multiple jobs. With a team of seven running as many as twenty projects at once, that overhead added up fast,” said Drew.
With LucidLink, projects were ready the moment they were needed. Jumping between jobs no longer required downloads or duplicated media and multiple people could work on the same project without slowing each other down.
Across the team, that reclaimed roughly a full working day every week.
Less risk, cleaner projects, smoother collaboration
The gains weren’t only about time. A single working source instead of multiple distributed copies meant:
Version confusion decreased
Duplicate storage dropped
Project structures stayed cleaner

Less time spent managing files meant more time focused on creativity and making decisions.
What really stood out during the transition was the level of support behind the platform. Workflow questions were met with practical guidance and the onboarding process showed a real understanding of how post teams operate. That made adoption smoother and helped us tune the setup to our hybrid model.

Infrastructure shapes creative velocity
Jack Nimble proves that with the right system, hybrid post-production doesn’t have to slow down your team.

Drew shared, “our experience has been that when the file system supports parallel work instead of fighting it, the entire post pipeline becomes more flexible.”
Why it matters
Save time: reclaim hours lost to packaging, downloads and version chaos
Reduce risk: keep projects cleaner with a single working source
Focus on creativity: less file management, more creative decision-making
Scale collaboration: multiple disciplines work in parallel without friction
