Earlier this month, I got a call from the Television Academy that blew me away: LucidLink has been honored with an Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy®Award. (You can read the Academy’s announcement here.)

When we started LucidLink, we had plenty of goals in mind. I’ll be honest, winning an Emmy wasn’t one of them.

Nearly ten years ago, my co-founder, George Dochev and I set out to solve what seemed like an impossible problem: how to collaborate on massive files across distance without delay.

I still remember the first time he demoed the prototype. It felt like magic. And that same sense of disbelief is something we consistently hear from customers when they first experience LucidLink.

From an idea to an Emmy

To see that idea grow into a company recognized with an Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy for materially changing how television is produced? That’s humbling and extraordinary. Accepting the award in California on October 14 will truly be a surreal moment!

It will feel especially meaningful knowing that over the years, productions powered by LucidLink — like The Bear and Atlanta — have gone on to win Emmys. Now we’ve got one of our own!

This year has already been full of milestones. We were recognized at NAB with Product of the Year for the fourth year running and won TV Tech’s Best in Show award. To add an Emmy to that list is beyond anything we could’ve imagined.

A huge thank you to our team and supporters

Of course, none of this would have been possible without our incredible team. Their belief, persistence and dedication to our mission, and to our customers, is what made this recognition possible. I want to thank them for pouring their talents into building something that has truly changed the way creators create.

And to our customers, partners and early supporters: thank you for believing in us. From the first editors who trusted us with their workflows to the global studios scaling LucidLink across continents, you’ve been part of this journey every step of the way.

Your challenges and feedback have shaped our platform. This Emmy is as much a recognition of your vision as it is of our technology.

Building for the future

At the same time, we know the work is far from finished. Media and entertainment is undergoing its biggest infrastructure shift since the rise of streaming.

Teams are stretched thin, asked to deliver faster with fewer resources. Too many productions are still stitched together using on-prem storage, patchwork cloud solutions and complex networking configurations. None of which are optimized for today’s workflows.

That’s why we keep building. Our mission has always been to remove data access and security bottlenecks so you can focus on storytelling. And at IBC 2025 in Amsterdam this September, we’ll be unveiling new capabilities that carry that mission forward — innovations designed to give your team a single, fast and secure workspace for every stage of production, no matter where they are.

We’ll be sharing more in the next couple of weeks. If you’re in Amsterdam, you can find our team and explore these updates firsthand here.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved with this Emmy. But more than anything, I’m motivated by what’s ahead. With the team we have, the customers we serve and the partners we’re building with, I know the best is yet to come.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
