What can you do on mobile?

LucidLink’s mobile apps let you quickly and easily get to the files and folders you need, without needing to open your laptop. 

With the mobile app, you can:

• Access any filespace you’ve been granted access to

• Upload right from your mobile device

• Browse files and folder structures instantly

• Preview video and audio files

• Create, rename or delete folders

• Open or send files to third-party apps like Google Drive, WhatsApp or Mail

Great for quick reviews, sharing files or keeping up with the latest on a live project.

How it works

When you open the LucidLink app, you’ll see a list of workspaces and filespaces you're a part of. Just tap to connect.

• On Android, you’ll see a foreground notification that ensures your filespace stays synced in the background

• On iOS, the connected filespace is highlighted in green

You can only connect to one filespace at a time, switching disconnects the previous one.

Background upload support

• On iOS 26, uploads continue in the background — no need to keep the app open

• On earlier iOS versions, uploads pause when backgrounded

• Android already supports background uploads today

Fast access, smart caching

The app uses a 5GB cache to keep recently viewed files handy, making it quicker to re-open videos, images or documents you've already accessed.

No need to redownload large media files every time.

Preview videos on iOS

Need to check a video on the go? The iOS app supports in-app playback of most native formats (like .mov, .mp4, .wav, .mp3, .flac and more).

Play videos in a floating window and stream files directly from your filespace, without needing to download the entire thing.

Keep in mind: playback quality may vary based on your internet connection. If it drops completely, just reopen the file to resume streaming.

Share files from your phone

Whether you’re sending work to a client or dropping assets into a group chat, mobile sharing is simple.

On both iOS and Android, you can:

• Open files in 3rd-party apps (like Google Docs, Premiere Rush, etc.)

• Use your phone’s native share menu to send files to collaborators outside of LucidLink

Note: folders can’t be shared via the system share menu, only individual files.

On iOS, you can also save files to your phone for offline use.

Security-first by design

LucidLink mobile apps use SSO (SAML) and honor your filespace permissions — so even when working from your phone, your data stays protected.

Stay connected, even when you’re not using the app

LucidLink mobile apps are designed to manage background sync smartly:

On Android:

• If the app is in the background and idle for 5+ minutes, it disconnects

• If you swipe it closed, there’s a 30-second delay before it stops syncing

• Avoid force-quitting during uploads/downloads to prevent cache issues

On iOS:

• Disconnects when you close the app or connect to a different filespace

Pro tip: enable notifications on Android to keep sync running in the background.

Run into issues?

The Android app includes a built-in “Generate Diagnostic Report” option. You’ll get a reference ID and a direct link to submit a support ticket,  just include the ID so our team can help you faster.
